Leadership and Cultural Competence

This course incorporates leadership, ethics, and cultural competence as a personal reflection experience for applying skills in the real world. This semester's journey allows students to think about how to foster and empower themselves and others for considering inclusion as a vital tool for ethical decision making in leadership. To actively practice and reflect, course assignments include:

Team collaboration to explore the social identity crisis

An opportunity to complete a personal values/intelligence assessment

Completion of a field study for appreciating other social identity groups

This video represents a semester-long opportunity for the student to ask the question,
“How does this course apply to me?”

The course allows students to use journaling as a reflection tool in an effort to identify the value of the course in the real world. The video demonstrates quotes from course learnings that I incorporated in my own leadership journal.
