Hello Wix. Here I come~

Though I have experience with digital writing through coursework and job training, this is my first experience with Wix as a web platform. It was exciting for me to get a chance to explore all that this hosting site has to offer. I would give Wix an 8.5 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being easiest) for ease of use because I was able to explore and start using many of the tools right away to build my e-Portfolio. In particular, the windows-type platform allows beginner users to understand how to click on text boxes for data input and upload images from a desktop.

The challenge for me regarding the software and something I am still unclear about is whether one of the basic hosting packages is required for purchase to upload an effective e-Portfolio. Wix does not clearly define that uploading their free templates to a site is possible without purchasing a package. I assume this is to nudge the user to purchase one of their plans.

There is great value for me to learn and understand the Wix platform for not only getting my own story professionally demonstrated, but to build yet another digital communication skill for which I seek. I am highly excited about getting to know this online platform.

Having the ability to use the latest tools to represent my professional self could mean the difference in getting that next best career, or possibly getting accepted into a graduate or PhD. Program. I am able to expand on my resume so that the reviewer has access to more information if they wish to expand on topics, and it gives space to display digital skills that are not typically communicated on a paper resume. A potential employer or graduate school has the flexibility to review data and go in whatever direction desired depending on their focus or interest in the skills for which I could bring to a program.

As I continue to get to know Wix, I want to get to know i-Frames and other visual tools to better optimize this site visually. Additionally, I want to continue to think about which course projects to highlight to best demonstrate my skills as a leader and effective communicator.
